Tesla has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Zelestra, a company specializing in renewable energy. This agreement guarantees the supply of 130 GWh of solar electricity per year for the automaker’s operations.
A structuring contract for Tesla
The agreement includes a capacity of 57 MWac, with energy supplied by three solar plants located in Brazatortas, in the Castilla-La Mancha region of Spain. These facilities, with a total capacity of 74 MWdc, are expected to generate an annual production of 146 GWh.
The immediate start of construction following the PPA signing illustrates Zelestra’s rapid execution capabilities. The company holds a project portfolio of more than 5 GW in Spain, confirming its commitment to this market.
A strategic development for Zelestra
With this agreement, Zelestra continues to strengthen its position in the long-term energy supply contract segment. Ivan Nieto, Chief Commercial Officer of Zelestra, emphasized that this partnership with Tesla aligns with their commitment to providing decarbonized energy solutions tailored to industry needs.
This commitment to PPAs reflects the growing interest of companies in securing their energy supply in response to market developments and cost reduction imperatives related to energy.
