StarCharge has entered into a strategic partnership with Prozeal Green Energy to deliver up to 1 GWh of next-generation Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The Chinese supplier will deploy its 5 MWh containerised units across multiple sites operated by the Indian company, which specialises in engineering, procurement, construction services and independent power production.
A project aligned with India’s national targets
This operation comes as India aims to increase its renewable energy capacity to 500 GW by 2030. The BESS units provided by StarCharge will be used to strengthen grid stability and enable better integration of renewable sources into the country’s power infrastructure. The project is scheduled for deployment next year.
A structuring partnership for both players
Prozeal Green Energy, a leading player in the Indian energy sector, will use the storage capacity provided to optimise the performance of its existing and future projects. For StarCharge, this agreement marks a key milestone in its expansion strategy in Asia, after consolidating operations in several other markets.
George Zhang, General Manager of BESS Solutions for the Asia-Pacific region at StarCharge, stated that the collaboration reflects a shared intention to develop solutions tailored to local requirements. He noted that the technologies deployed address the specific challenges of the Indian grid in terms of reliability and efficiency.
Accelerated expansion in the international market
The Chinese company also secured a 100 MWh deal with a client in Eastern Europe in August. The European project is expected to begin initial deliveries before the end of the year, following a phased implementation schedule.
These initiatives demonstrate StarCharge’s capacity to meet large-scale demand across multiple continents while solidifying its position in a sector where competition for high-capacity storage solutions remains intense.
