Schneider Electric has successfully completed the acquisition of EcoAct, a company specializing in the climate sector. EcoAct specializes in climate consulting, the calculation of corporate carbon footprints and the scientific evaluation of carbon offset projects.
Expanded portfolio for Schneider Electric
This acquisition marks an important turning point for Schneider Electric, which is seeking to strengthen its commitment to sustainable development and respond to global climate challenges. Schneider Electric will now integrate EcoAct’s portfolio of products and services, including consulting services, climate data tools and the development of carbon offset projects, into its activities.
Steve Wilhite, President of Schneider Electric’s Sustainability Consulting Services business, expressed his satisfaction with the acquisition, saying, “We have long admired the EcoAct team. We look forward to accelerating our solutions for businesses, offering real added value for the climate and for our customers.”
Acquisition after Atos Rout
After the collapse of its former owner, Atos, Schneider Electric finalized the acquisition. The two companies had entered into exclusive negotiations in July with a view to this acquisition, without disclosing the amount.
Schneider Electric, with sales of 34 billion euros in 2022, is a leading manufacturer of electrical distribution equipment and digital solutions combining energy and automation. The company also specializes in energy efficiency, energy management, sustainable development, climate risk and industrial decarbonization.
For its part, EcoAct generated sales of around €70 million in fiscal 2022 and employs almost 400 people. This acquisition strengthens Schneider Electric’s position as a key player in sustainable development and the fight against climate change.
Schneider Electric’s acquisition of EcoAct represents an important step towards a more sustainable future. This merger will combine EcoAct’s climate expertise with Schneider Electric’s capabilities, offering even more effective solutions to combat global climate challenges. This initiative demonstrates Schneider Electric’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and creating value for its customers.
