Sandbacka, SVEVIND’s wind farm project is being sold to Prime Green Energy Infrastructure Fund (PGEIF). The German fund manager Prime Capital AG heads this infrastructure fund.
A common project
Sandbacka, is located in Finalnde in two municipalities northeast of the regional capital Vaasa. The onshore wind farm of 14 turbines will produce more than 250GWh per year. In addition, each wind turbine will be capable of delivering up to 6.6MW.
According to the Deutsche Wind Guard, the site and wind conditions are highly conducive to the production of renewable energy. Construction of the park is expected to begin in 2023. Thus, the commissioning will take place during the year 2024.
A local initiative
Initiated by landowners, Sandbacka will have a lasting effect on the energy market in the Ostrobothnia region. In addition, the project has the support of the government and the administration to strengthen Finland’s energy independence. With its ready-to-build status, it is a short-term solution to the country’s current energy supply challenges.
Prime Capital AG reports that this is the tenth investment with PGEIF. In addition, the German fund manager says it has fully deployed the fund’s committed capital. In addition, the infrastructure fund believes that Sandbacka could be integrated into the Kristinestad energy cluster.
