Rosatom and Novatek sign a memorandum of understanding on decarbonization cooperation at the Russian Energy Week forum.
A Memorandum of Understanding
Rosatom and Novatek sign an agreement specifying that Novatek group companies will purchase electricity produced in Rosatom’s wind farms. The purchase of renewable electricity will reduce the carbon footprint of Novatek products in accordance with international standards. In addition, the memorandum provides for the evaluation of the possibilities of using Rosatom’s technology and solutions.
The agreement allows for technology exchanges in the production of LNG, low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia. The same applies to the production and storage of electrical energy. Thus, the parties join their efforts in the development of wind energy in the extreme conditions of the Arctic.
