Qualitas Energy, a global investment and management platform specializing in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, has officially announced the appointment of Clemens Susen as Head of Investment for the German market. He will assume his role starting February 1, 2025, tasked with leading the company’s investment strategy in Germany.

A key appointment to accelerate investments

This announcement follows the promotion of Johannes Overbeck, formerly Head of Investment, to the position of Co-CEO. Now overseeing Investment, Structured Finance, Finance, and Legal functions, Overbeck has entrusted Susen with the responsibility of maximizing investment opportunities, particularly in the onshore wind sector.

Significant capital dedicated to wind energy

Qualitas Energy plans to inject substantial funds into wind energy projects in Germany, primarily through the €2.4 billion Qualitas Energy Fund V. The company aims to acquire development-stage project rights and repowering opportunities to enhance profitability and energy production efficiency.

A strengthened presence in Germany

With over 250 employees operating from six strategic locations—Berlin, Hamburg, Wiesbaden, Trier, Cologne, and Stuttgart—Qualitas Energy’s German subsidiary is a key player in the industry. Its expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, from acquisition and financing to construction and operation of onshore wind turbines.

An ambitious vision for energy transition

Leveraging Clemens Susen’s expertise and targeted investments, Qualitas Energy aims to strengthen its position in the German renewable energy market. The company’s strategy focuses on strategic acquisitions and the development of new wind capacities to meet the growing demand for wind-generated electricity.
