The 8-turbine park has a total installed capacity of 25.2 MW, enough to power 30,000 people a year and reduce CO2 emissions by 29,500 tonnes a year. Le Langrois is managed by Octopus Energy Generation, one of Europe’s largest specialist investors in renewable energies. The company also inaugurated its first wind farm in the Vienne region in May 2024.

Extension of the Langres Sud wind farm

The Langrois project represents an extension to the Langres Sud wind farm, which has been operational since 2010, and comprises 26 wind turbines, each rated at 2 MW, spread over eight communes. Submitted in 2018, the project covers three communes and obtained environmental authorization in 2020, following a public inquiry and municipal consultations. Archaeological and soil surveys have been completed, and the project blends seamlessly into the local landscape.
Construction work began in early 2023, after the project was finalized at the end of 2022. Carried out to strict standards to minimize impact on water resources and local residents, the teams optimized processes to reduce stress on the community. The agricultural land involved guarantees a high level of local acceptability.

Production capacity and local impact

The Langrois wind farm is Q ENERGY’s 6th wind farm in the département. The company has developed and built five other wind farms in the Haute-Marne region, with a total of 74 turbines and an installed capacity of 157.2 MW. Together, these farms supply the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 163,000 people, and avoid the emission of 159,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The development of the Langrois wind farm illustrates Q ENERGY’s strategy of increasing renewable energy production while respecting local constraints. This project will strengthen the region’s energy infrastructure, meeting the growing demand for renewable energies.
The Langrois wind farm adds to Q ENERGY’s efforts to strengthen France’s renewable energy infrastructure. By diversifying its energy sources and increasing its installed capacity, Q ENERGY is contributing to the country’s energy transition, while ensuring local acceptability thanks to projects that are well integrated into their environment.
