In Port-La-Nouvelle, Hyd’Occ signs a protocol for the installation and operation of a renewable hydrogen production plant.
A 45MW project
In Port-La-Nouvelle, The company is expected to set up the plant in the port of the town in the second half of 2024. The project is expected to reach a production capacity of 45MW. This signature is a step towards the future plant dedicated to the production and marketing of hydrogen from renewable sources.
The renewable hydrogen will power the HYVOO/CORRIDOR H2 ecosystem equipped with 5 green H2 charging stations. It could also cover maritime uses (with the Hydromer dredger) as well as uses in the port and its surroundings. This project is part of the France Relance plan led by the Aude prefecture.
Local support
It is also supported by the Occitanie Region, ADEME, the European Union and the EIB. Thus, this plant represents an opportunity to ensure the energy transition desired by Port-la-Nouvelle, which should soon welcome an offshore wind project. Moreover, this project represents an opportunity to meet the decarbonization challenge initiated by the Occitanie Region in its €150 million Renewable Hydrogen Plan.
Hyd’Occ also reinforces the versatility and the development of the commercial port of Port-La Nouvelle. Port-La-Nouvelle intends to position itself as a true Mediterranean hub for renewable hydrogen. Moreover, Hyd’Occ is laureate of the calls for projects “hydrogen ecosystems” and “Corridor H2” and labeled by the Pôle Mer Méditerranée.
