Nordex, a wind energy operator, receives a major order from Exilion Tuuli for turbines in Finland. The group delivers high-tech N163/5.X turbines. With €5.4 billion in sales, Nordex is on the rise.
An important order
At the end of September, Nordex received an order for 17 N163/5.X turbines for the Isokangas and Palokangas wind farms. Patxi Landa, CSO of Nordex Group, highlights their success:
“We are very pleased that Exilion – Finland’s largest wind power producer – has chosen us to supply our onshore technology. Since the introduction of the N163/5.X turbine used for both projects, the Nordex Group has so far received orders from all over the world for 5.5 GW of this type of turbine from the Delta4000 series. In Finland alone, with the N163/5.X, we are currently installing turbines in wind farms with an installed capacity of over 1.35 GW.”
In addition, the orders also include a 30-year premium service for the turbines.
The Isokangas and Palokangas wind farms are under construction in northern Finland. They are located in the municipality of Ii. The turbines supplied will be the version for a cold climate.
International growth
Nordex has more than 41GW of wind power capacity in over 40 markets. In 2021, the group will generate revenues of €5.4 billion. The company currently employs approximately 9,000 people.
Its factories are mainly located in Germany, Spain, Brazil and the United States. Onshore turbines from class 4 to 6.X MW meet the requirements of markets with a limited grid. In addition, they are able to meet specific requirements.
