Nordex wins order to supply and install 16 N163/5.X Delta4000 series wind turbines in Spain. The order includes a five-year premium service contract for turbine maintenance. In addition, the contract provides for a possible 10-year extension.
A third project
Nordex specifies that the wind farm will have a total capacity of 94.4MW. The hub will be located on steel tubular towers with a height of 108 meters. The park will be located in the north of Spain, in the autonomous region of Aragon and will be completed in the summer of 2024.
Nordex will manufacture the main components at its plants in Spain. Currently, the group is installing two additional wind farms nearby. The two projects have a total capacity of 160MW.
Growth in Aragón
Patxi Landa, Nordex’s general sales manager, says:
“Especially in Aragón, we have had great success this year with our 5 MW N155/5.X and N163/5.X turbines. With these projects, our Delta4000 turbines are taking another step in the decarbonization of energy supply and independence from fossil fuels in Spain.”
The group is installing more than 41GW of wind power in over 40 markets. In addition, it will achieve a turnover of €5.4 billion in 2021.
The company employs approximately 9,000 people. Its portfolio includes land-based turbines in the 4 to 6.X MW class that the company customizes. The objective is to meet the market needs of countries or regions with limited network capacity.
