Nexans, a key player in the energy sector, recently finalized the acquisition of La Triveneta Cavi, an Italian company renowned for its production of medium and low-voltage cables. This operation is part of Nexans ‘ strategy to strengthen its position in the European market and expand its production and logistics capacities. Triveneta Cavi, founded in 1965, is an established leader in its field, with a strong presence in over 30 countries. The company operates four production units and an integrated copper wire-drawing facility, employing around 700 people. It generates annual sales of over 800 million euros.

Financial and operating impacts

The acquisition of La Triveneta Cavi, valued at around 520 million euros, represents a multiple of 5.6 times 2023 EBITDA before synergies and 4.6 times after planned synergies. This transaction should improve earnings per share from the first year and limit the impact on Nexans’ debt, with financial leverage kept below 1.0x. Nexans’ strategy is to rapidly integrate La Triveneta Cavi, capitalizing on its expertise in cables for buildings, fire-resistant systems and renewable energy applications. This acquisition will also enable Nexans to strengthen its logistics capabilities and improve the efficiency of its supply chain.

European market development

By integrating La Triveneta Cavi, Nexans strengthens its presence in the European medium- and low-voltage cable market. This acquisition will enable Nexans to better meet the growing demand for cabling solutions in the construction, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors. Triveneta Cavi also brings technical expertise and advanced production capabilities, which will enable Nexans to develop new offers and improve its competitiveness on the European market. This expansion is part of Nexans’ global strategy to become an undisputed leader in electrification.

Future prospects and synergies

With this acquisition, Nexans plans to achieve significant synergies by combining the resources and skills of both companies. The integration of La Triveneta Cavi will optimize production processes, reduce costs and improve operating efficiency. In addition, Nexans will be able to leverage La Triveneta Cavi’s extensive distribution network to strengthen its presence in existing markets and penetrate new market segments. This acquisition also offers opportunities to develop new products and innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the energy market. This strategic acquisition of La Triveneta Cavi is in line with Nexans’ objective of reinforcing its leading position in the cable and electrification sector in Europe. By integrating these new capabilities and expertise, Nexans is well positioned to capture new growth opportunities and strengthen its competitiveness in the global market.
