Netherlands Establishes Record Electricity Production and Exports in 2025
According to Statistics Netherlands (CBS), the country generated 132 billion kWh of electricity in 2025, 10% higher than in 2024. Renewables accounted for 49% of the mix, while exports grew 25%.

The Netherlands generated 132 billion kWh of electricity in 2025, a 10% increase compared to 2024, according to provisional data from Statistics Netherlands (CBS). This growth reflects a simultaneous increase in both renewable and fossil fuel generation. Exports reached 30 billion kWh, up 25% year-over-year, strengthening the country's role in regional European electricity markets.
