Neoen, through its subsidiary Shift Solar Inc. has won a competitive 380 MW contract fromOntario‘s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO). This 20-year contract will provide essential additional capacity to meet the province’s growing electricity needs. Grey Owl Storage, the battery assigned to this project, will have a total capacity of 400 MW / 1,600 MWh. It will be located in the municipality of Arran-Elderslie, Bruce County, Ontario.

Impact on network stability and reliability

This new installation will enable energy to be charged during off-peak hours and redistributed to the grid at peak times. This optimized energy management is crucial to the stability and reliability of Ontario’s power grid.

Neoen: Rapid and ambitious expansion

With the addition of Grey Owl Storage, Neoen confirms its ambition to become a key player in Canada. This project is not only the largest in Neoen’s portfolio in Canada, but also the second largest in the country.
