Naturgas, the Colombian gas association, and France gaz, representing the French gas industry, have signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen their expertise in the development of green gas in Colombia and France.
This collaboration also aims to explore opportunities linked to liquefied natural gas (LNG).

A Partnership for Energy Transition

This international alliance is part of a shared determination to decarbonize the gas industry in order to respond to the ecological and climatic emergency, while reinforcing energy security.
Discussions between decision-makers in the two countries are essential to defining the strategies, market conditions and policies that will help the gas sector evolve.
Innovation and accelerated deployment of renewable, low-carbon gas production technologies, such as methanization, power-to-gas, pyrogasification and hydrothermal gasification, are at the heart of this partnership.

Strategic Objectives

The partnership aims to promote collaboration around the development of biomethane, hydrogen, e-methane and LNG.
By strengthening institutional and commercial relations between Colombia and France, the two associations seek to facilitate the transfer of experience, best practices, information and resources to transform the gas sector.
They are also building strong links between the public and private entities involved to ensure an efficient and equitable energy transition.

Chairmen’s statements

Luz Stella Murgas Maya, President of Naturgas, emphasizes that the energy transition requires a global effort and a conversation free of ideology.
She insists that achieving climate targets for 2050 will only be possible if we take advantage of low-emission energy sources such as biomethane, hydrogen and LNG.
For her, the exchange of knowledge with France will be crucial for Colombia and Latin America. Frédéric Martin, President of France Gaz, affirms that the goal of carbon neutrality is a global one.
He is convinced that this collaboration will contribute to a more sustainable future for both countries, and is delighted to be able to move forward hand in hand with Naturgas to accelerate the energy transition.
This partnership represents a major opportunity to build a more equitable and sustainable energy future, meeting the global challenges of energy transition.
