MPC Energy Solutions (MPCES) strengthens its commitment to providing renewable energy solutions and expands its presence in Latin America by entering Panama. By focusing on the development of ground-mounted solar parks, the company aims to significantly expand its project pipeline in Latin America.

MPCES and its partners have already identified sites and grid-connection capacity for a combined 60 to 70 MWp, with development work to begin immediately and the goal of increasing this local pipeline through in-house development and/or acquisitions. The new developments will support the company’s goal of reaching 800 MW of construction-ready projects in the region by 2025, and 1,000 MW of sustainable energy assets in Latin America and the Caribbean by 2027.

Panama’s remarkable progress

Panama has made significant progress in developing hydroelectric projects, generating 54% of its electricity from hydroelectric power. To accelerate its commitment to combat climate change, build resilience and meet growing energy demand, Panama has committed to having 50% of its generating capacity come from renewable energy by 2050, including solar and wind.
