Melvan announced it has secured €4.26mn ($4.64mn) in financing from Caisse d’Epargne Loire Centre (CELC) for the development of three photovoltaic projects in France. The investment will enable the construction of solar installations spread over three distinct sites, together representing a total capacity of 3.9 megawatt-peak (MWp). Construction work is expected to begin in the second half of 2025.
Three sites selected for deployment
The first project involves the installation of photovoltaic canopies on the parking lot of the Agroparc area, located in the city of Avignon. The second will concern the site of the company HPS Negoloc, in Lye, where canopies intended for storage will be built. Finally, a third project will be deployed around the municipal stadium in the commune of Sault, also in the form of canopies.
Targeted bank financing
Caisse d’Epargne Loire Centre granted this financing as part of its support programme for renewable energy projects. The financial package covers all the investments required for the construction and commissioning of the three power plants. According to the information provided, this project portfolio will allow cost sharing for design and engineering, thereby optimising the implementation of the installations.
Commissioning expected after 2025
The construction sites are expected to start simultaneously in the second half of 2025, with progressive commissioning from the following year. Melvan has not disclosed details about operating contracts or the planned duration of maintenance partnerships, but the sites are expected to be connected to the public grid as soon as they are completed. The total installed capacity of the three projects could cover the average annual consumption of several thousand households.
