McDermott International, an engineering company specializing in offshore projects, has recently been awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract by Repsol Exploración México S.A. for the development of the Polok and Chinwol fields, located in the Gulf of Mexico.

A multifaceted project

This project encompasses several key phases related to engineering, procurement management, construction, and installation (EPCI) of underwater infrastructure. These include subsea pipeline systems, umbilicals, risers, and flowlines, collectively referred to as SURF.

Recognized expertise for offshore challenges

Under this contract, McDermott will leverage its extensive expertise in subsea engineering. The company has integrated in-house capabilities to manage all phases of EPCI projects. According to Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott’s Senior Vice President of Floating and Subsea Facilities, the company is committed to delivering innovative solutions while optimizing costs and adhering to high standards of safety and quality.
