Jenny Howard is a graduate engineer and holds a master’s degree in renewable energy systems. She was previously Head of Development for EDF Renewables in Ireland. Prior to joining EDF Renewables Ireland she held project management positions with Gaelectric and Wind Prospect.
An ambitious goal
Jenny Howard, Head of Development at EDF Renewables Ireland, says:
“I am delighted to take on this new role at an exciting time for our company and the future of renewable energy in Ireland. Since January, our headcount in Ireland has grown rapidly, and this year alone we have announced plans for four new onshore wind farms across the country.”
In addition, EDF Renewables Ireland expects to submit initial planning applications early next year. In addition, construction of a 130-hectare solar farm in Roscommon County will also begin in 2023.
EDF Renewables Ireland says it is focused on achieving the target of having up to 500MW of projects operational by 2030. The company acquired in 2020 50% of Codling Wind Park, an offshore wind farm off the coast of County Wicklow. In the UK, the company has a portfolio of 36 wind farms in operation and two battery storage units.
