Chinese group JA Solar has announced the start of volume production and initial shipments of its new high-performance photovoltaic module, DeepBlue 5.0. This new generation of solar modules, with a maximum output of 650W, is based on the proprietary Bycium+ 5.0 n-type cell technology and tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) architecture. The Yangzhou manufacturing site, automated and equipped with intelligent control systems, ensures the scale-up of this technology.
High efficiency through technical optimisation
The DeepBlue 5.0 module achieves a conversion efficiency of 24.07%, according to data published by the manufacturer. It features a high-density interconnection design optimised to improve energy output in challenging environments. A temperature coefficient of –0.26%/°C and a bifaciality of 85% ±5% enable the module to maintain stable performance across various climate conditions and installation scenarios.
The industrial development of the DeepBlue 5.0 highlights JA Solar’s ability to scale technical innovations efficiently while meeting strict quality standards. The Yangzhou facility, a key part of its manufacturing network, plays a central role in this strategy. It is designed to support high-volume production with reduced delivery times for international markets.
Meeting rising global demand
This launch comes amid growing demand for high-efficiency solar modules in the commercial and industrial sectors. JA Solar targets segments requiring reliable and continuous production capacities, with a focus on long-term technical durability.
“The first shipment of DeepBlue 5.0 demonstrates both our technological innovation and the strength of our manufacturing operations,” said Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar.
