ISB invites renewable hydrogen project developers selected under one of the European project frameworks to enter into discussions for fast-track funding and consulting. It will operate in collaboration with the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance.
ISB’s Hydrogen Proposal
The projects that can respond to this invitation are those selected in the framework of the important projects of common European interest (IPCEI) Hy2Tech and Hy2Use. Projects from the European Union’s Innovation Fund or other public funding schemes are also eligible.
Renewable hydrogen project developers have until the end of January to submit their forms to the EU bank.
Essential partners
The ISB is a key financial partner for the development of renewable hydrogen. This requires substantial investments. Over the past eight years, the bank has granted more than 550 million euros in financial aid to hydrogen technologies.
The European Investment Bank has also provided advisory support to projects across Europe. It currently funds technologies such as electrolyzers, catalysts and fuel cells. In addition, it supports large-scale hydrogen production, including electrolysis. Carbon capture and storage and hydrogen stations round out this broad range of ISB-funded activities.
The European Hydrogen Alliance supports the large-scale deployment of hydrogen by 2030. It brings together the different sectors of low-carbon hydrogen, from production, to demand, to distribution. It aims to promote investment in this energy vector. This structure is part of the EU’s efforts to position itself as an industrial leader in the field of renewable hydrogen.
