India’s energy sector must mobilize an average of $145 billion in annual investments to bridge the gap between its economic expansion and net-zero ambitions. According to Joshua Ngu, Vice Chairman for Asia Pacific at Wood Mackenzie, this capital must be concentrated on power generation, storage, and urgent grid infrastructure modernization. The analyst presented these findings at India Energy Week 2026, as a report from think tank Ember highlights the concrete challenges of integrating renewables into the Indian grid.
