In the United States, Eurowind and Capstone announce the creation of a joint venture to develop renewable energy projects.

A partnership for the American market

In the United States, Eurowind and Capstone announce a partnership for the US market. The two partners are currently developing a pipeline of more than 1GW of new renewable energy projects in California. These projects, in the early stages of development, include battery storage, wind turbines and photovoltaic panels.

Eurowind Energy is a renewable project developer and independent power producer based in Denmark. The company already has a significant development pipeline of projects across Europe and the United States. Eurowind Energy owns and operates a wind and solar portfolio of over 850MW.

Risk of shortages

Bo Scholer, President of Eurowind Energy US Development LLC, states:

“The opportunity to join forces with Capstone was a major factor in the timing of our entry into the US market. We have come to appreciate the perspective and professionalism of the Capstone team, and we look forward to working with Capstone to advance projects to construction. Eurowind Energy is committed to the U.S. market and working with Capstone is an important part of our development pipeline.”

Capstone’s business is focused throughout the United States and North America as a whole. The company has a portfolio of approximately 774MW of installed capacity in 29 facilities.

Thus, this 50/50 joint venture allows Eurowind and Capstone to strengthen their positions in the territory. In addition, the California solar energy market is growing in the state as it seeks to increase its production capacity. Indeed, California already relies on renewables to produce nearly one-third of its electricity.
