In the United States, ENGIE is acquiring 33 projects that will accelerate its development in renewable energy. At the beginning of summer 2022, the French company already had 3.9GW of installed renewable capacity.

A presence in the United States

In the United States, the projects concern the development of 2.7GW of solar energy. In addition, there is 0.7GW of storage per pair and per battery. ENGIE is also acquiring 2.6 GW of stand-alone battery storage from Belltown Power U.S.

Dave Carroll, Chief Renewables Officer and Director of ENGIE North America, said:

“These projects are a tremendous addition to our existing renewable pipeline and will help further accelerate ENGIE’s role in the energy transition. The mix of solar, paired and stand-alone storage in a wide range of geographies complements our existing portfolio and provides opportunities for expansion into new regions in the United States. The 3.3 GW of battery storage projects will be a key driver of flexibility and contribute to balancing the grid to improve its reliability and resiliency.”

The French company also has energy efficiency and energy supply projects. It designs the development, construction and operation of renewable energy assets such as wind, solar and storage.

A Franco-American partnership
