In Solapur, India, a letter of award validates a 150MW solar project undertaken by Tata Power.
An expected approval
For the Solapur project, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) received a letter of award. This letter is from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL). It follows the competitive bidding process followed by an online auction, which the company won.

Solapur’s project must be in operation within 18 months of the date of execution of the APP. In addition, with this new project, TPREL’s total renewable energy capacity reaches 5786MW.
Increase in capacity
TPREL offers complete green energy solutions such as turnkey, EPC and O&M solutions for various business segments. The company has a solar cell and module manufacturing facility of over 1.1GW in Bangalore. In addition, the company plans to set up a new 4GW solar cell factory.
TPREL’s total renewable utility capacity is 5786MW, including 1909MW of projects in various stages of implementation. Its operational capacity is 3877MW, including 2949MW of solar and 928MW of wind. TPREL aims to provide energy access to millions of people across the country through its integrated green energy solutions.
