Hydrocop acquires, through Envinergy, a fleet of five hydroelectric power plants in southwest France. This investment places the group in 4th place as a hydroelectricity producer in France. The group now has a fleet of 41 plants in operation.
A local network
Hydrocop announces that the five hydroelectric power plants have a combined capacity of 14.6MW. The global annual production approaches 63GWh of renewable and local energy. In addition, the group already owns three hydroelectric power plants on the Lot River.
The group thus takes over from the Gronchi family, the most important private producer in the southwest. Roland Gronchi is at the origin of the concentration of hydroelectric activities spread over the Lot departments. The portfolio includes the Assier, Moulin du Périé and Floiras power plants as well as Fumel, in the Lot-et-Garonne region.
A recognized producer
Hydrocop thus becomes the major producer in the Lot valley. This position allows it to strengthen its regional production base. The group thus consolidates its position as the fourth largest French producer, bringing its current fleet to 41 power plants in operation. The company has about 100MW of installed capacity and 410GWh of annual production.
Hydrocop is a recognized player in the acquisition, operation and maintenance of hydroelectric plants. A collective of local energy companies created the group in 2011. The company wants to play an active role in the field of renewable energy.
