Hughes Subsea Services signs contract with Dogger Bank Wind Farm to provide anode installation services on Dogger Bank A.

The world’s largest wind farm project

Hughes Subsea Services will provide the Dogger Bank Wind Farm project with a vessel and crew. The company will also provide the equipment needed to complete the 2023 internal anode installation campaign. This is the first phase of the wind farm.

The Dogger Bank offshore wind farm is located between 130 and 190 kilometers from the northeast coast of England. The project, which consists of three phases, will include a total of 277 GE Renewable Energy Haliade-X turbines. The wind farm will have a total capacity of 3.6 GW.

Once completed, the wind farm will be the largest in the world. It will be able to supply 6 million homes in the UK. In addition, Hughes Subsea Services will support the anode installation campaign in Phase A.

An ambitious partnership

Hughes Subsea Services will install the internal cathodic protection systems on all 95 turbines installed at Dogger Bank A. The company will use a walk-on offshore support vessel. Work is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2023 for a duration of 2 months.

Dogger Bank Wind Farm is being built in three phases called A, B and C. The project is a joint venture between SSE Renewables, Equinor and Eni Plenitude. SSE Renewables and Equinor each own 40% of the project.

Hughes Subsea Services offers a full range of services in the energy sectors. The company is particularly active in the field of renewable energy and electricity production. In addition, with this contract, approximately 60 additional jobs are expected to be created starting in the spring of 2023.
