GALILEO has already owned 35% of PAGRA since July 2022, and is now moving to full ownership of the company to accelerate its growth plan. This acquisition testifies to GALILEO’s strong commitment to the Polish energy market and its belief in the attractiveness of local energy solutions for industrial and commercial (I&C) customers. Similar projects in the solar energy sector are developing in Poland, as is Uniper’s investment in this field.
Expansion strategy
PAGRA, known for its expertise in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of photovoltaic projects for I&C customers, is now positioning itself in the energy as a service (EaaS) sector. This model enables customers to save on their electricity costs through rooftop solar photovoltaic installations, with no initial investment required.
Management comments
Ingmar Wilhelm, co-founder and CEO of GALILEO, says: “The investment in PAGRA strengthens our commitment to providing innovative renewable energy solutions to our customers across Europe, and marks an important step in our long-term dedication to the Polish energy market. In Poland, we are also developing a pipeline of renewable energy projects, including solar photovoltaic installations, onshore wind turbines and utility-scale energy storage projects. We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with the talented PAGRA team and achieving new achievements together.”
Krzysztof Fabisz, PAGRA’s Director of Operations, adds: “As co-founder of PAGRA, my goal was to create a solid company operating not only on the local market, but also on a national scale. GALILEO’s contribution to PAGRA’s development since 2022 has enabled the company to grow dynamically. We are now entering a new phase of growth in the renewable energy sector. I’m delighted to be able to continue developing the company with such a strong and experienced partner as GALILEO. I would also like to thank the dedicated team at PAGRA, as this breakthrough would not have been possible without them.”
Impact on the Polish market
This acquisition represents a significant step towards expanding our energy solutions offering in Poland. PAGRA’s GALILEO-led projects will boost local energy capacity and offer viable alternatives to industrial and commercial enterprises. The adoption of EaaS could transform the way Polish companies approach their energy needs, enabling them to benefit from the advantages of renewable energies without the initial financial constraints.
With this acquisition, GALILEO and PAGRA position themselves as key players in the Polish energy market, demonstrating an effective synergy between local expertise and pan-European ambition.
