FTC Solar, a company specializing in solar tracking solutions, recently signed a strategic contract with Dunlieh Energy, an energy project developer, to supply trackers for over one gigawatt (GW) of upcoming projects. This agreement will allow Dunlieh Energy to leverage FTC Solar’s advanced tracking technology for large-scale projects, with initial installations scheduled to begin in 2025.

The first project included in this agreement is the Situla Energy Project, a production complex combining 500 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity and energy storage. Located in Banner County, Nebraska, near the Wyoming border, this large-scale project aims to provide a reliable renewable energy source while boosting the local economy. It is estimated that it will generate approximately 225 construction jobs and bring in over $1.4 million in annual local taxes, primarily allocated to educational and community infrastructure in the county.

A Strategic Partnership in the Solar Tracker Sector

The agreement between FTC Solar and Dunlieh Energy marks a notable advancement in the renewable energy expansion in the United States. FTC Solar will provide its solar tracker solutions, including single-axis and dual-axis technologies (1P and 2P), known for their fast and efficient installation. According to Thaer Flieh, CEO of Dunlieh Energy, FTC’s tracker technology meets the operational simplicity and efficiency requirements necessary for large-scale projects.

This partnership adds to FTC Solar’s recent agreements with Strata Clean Energy and Sandhills Energy, further strengthening its presence in the North American solar energy market. These collaborations allow FTC Solar to meet the growing demand for reliable and high-performance energy solutions.

Local Economic Impact and Community Benefits

The Situla project is expected to create tangible economic impacts through job creation and tax revenue generation for local communities. Banner County will benefit directly from these financial contributions, with support directed toward local educational and community infrastructure. Yann Brandt, President and CEO of FTC Solar, emphasized that this partnership would maximize each project by leveraging the company’s adapted tracker solutions, meeting Dunlieh Energy’s requirements for effective and durable installations.

A Commitment to Sustainable Energy Infrastructure

This agreement arises amid strong demand for renewable energy solutions in the United States. Nebraska, although historically less developed in the solar sector, is experiencing significant growth in such installations, and the Situla project could reinforce the state’s position in large-scale solar energy infrastructure. With tracker delivery expected in the second half of 2025, FTC Solar is positioned as a key partner to support the rapid development of substantial solar energy capacities.
