ERG, a major player in renewable energy production, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Amazon. This long-term contract is based on a “pay-as-produced” model, ensuring that Amazon purchases electricity and Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) produced by the Corlacky wind farm in Northern Ireland.
A Strategic Project for ERG and Amazon
The Corlacky wind farm is under development and is expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2025. Once completed, it will include 11 Vestas V117 turbines, each with a power capacity of 4.3 megawatts (MW), for a total installed capacity of 47.3 MW. The annual production is estimated at 176 gigawatt-hours (GWh), equivalent to the energy needs of approximately 55,361 British households.
A PPA to Secure Revenues
PPAs have become key instruments in a volatile energy market. Paolo Merli, CEO of ERG, highlights that this agreement with Amazon strengthens the company’s position in this segment and brings the energy secured through PPAs to more than 3 terawatt-hours (TWh) per year.
A Growth Dynamic for ERG
ERG continues its expansion in Europe, relying on long-term partnerships with industrial players. With this new collaboration, the company strengthens its growth model based on revenue predictability while enhancing its portfolio of operational projects.
