Chinese group Envision Energy has signed a strategic agreement with Indonesian company SUN Terra to establish an expanded collaboration in the energy storage sector, particularly in Southeast Asia, India and Australia. The agreement covers procurement, assembly, local manufacturing and the deployment of energy storage technology solutions.

Envision Energy, a specialist in energy technologies and advanced storage systems, will seek to strengthen its regional supply chain through this partnership. SUN Terra, a subsidiary of the Sinar Mas conglomerate, will bring its project development expertise and regional presence to support the local implementation of the agreed solutions.

A collaboration across the full value chain

The agreement outlines cooperation across critical segments of the energy storage lifecycle, including system distribution, regional manufacturing, technology licensing and solution delivery. The two partners aim for vertical integration to enable rapid deployment in target markets.

“SUN Terra has strong local presence and development capabilities that complement our technical expertise. Together, we will accelerate the growth of energy storage in Asia-Pacific,” said Kane Xu, Senior Vice President and President of International Product Lines at Envision Energy.

Regional deployment and local manufacturing

SUN Terra aims to leverage this alliance to expand its capabilities in Indonesia, while also supporting the localisation of technologies in India and Australia. Already active in several large-scale solar projects, the company plans to integrate its photovoltaic offering with energy storage solutions.

“This strategic partnership will enable the introduction of advanced energy storage systems in Indonesia and support local production in Australia and India,” said Karina Darmawan, Chief Executive Officer of SUN Terra.

SUN Terra provides end-to-end services from solar project development to battery lifecycle management. Envision Energy, for its part, is pursuing a strategy of expansion in emerging markets, relying on local manufacturing and technology transfers.
