Entech has signed a contract worth more than €5mn ($5.46mn) with a major energy sector player for the construction of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a capacity of around 20 megawatt-hours (MWh), located in Loire-Atlantique. The project will be carried out by Entech Construction, the division responsible for designing, developing and installing ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants and storage systems. Commissioning is scheduled for December 2026.

A long-term structured partnership
The construction contract is accompanied by a twenty-year maintenance commitment. According to Entech, the agreement aims to ensure the system’s performance and availability throughout its operational life. The financial terms of the maintenance contract have not been disclosed, but the company stated that it represents a strategic component of the cooperation between the two parties.

Strengthened position in the storage market
This Loire-Atlantique project adds to Entech’s growing list of achievements in the energy storage sector, which is experiencing strong growth in France. The company did not disclose the specific type of batteries or the control system to be implemented, but indicated that the selected solution would enable optimised management of energy fed into and withdrawn from the grid.

A national trend of partnerships
The French storage market is attracting increased interest from operators and investors, supported by an evolving regulatory framework. Combining construction contracts with long-term maintenance agreements, as in this case, is becoming a common practice to secure performance and stabilise commercial relationships over time.
