ENHOL orders eight wind turbines from Vestas for the new Cascante wind farm in Navarre, with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions by 23,000 tonnes a year. The contract calls for the delivery and installation of eight V162-6.2 MW turbines, promising increased power in 6.4 MW mode. This partnership is part of a long-term collaboration, underlining ENHOL’s confidence in Vestas’ advanced technology.

Technology at the service of transition

Vestas’ Agustín Sánchez Tembleque highlights the importance of the EnVentus platform for Spain. With over 5.2 GW installed in the country, Vestas is making a significant contribution to the country’s energy transition. The Cascante project is seen as a crucial milestone thanks to its cutting-edge technology.

Environmental impact and timetable

Turbine delivery is scheduled for the last quarter of 2024, with commissioning in the first half of 2025. The project will prevent the emission of 23,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to the withdrawal of 15,500 European cars.

A step closer to sustainability

The Cascante wind farm not only represents technical progress; it also symbolizes Spain’s renewed commitment to clean energy. Maintenance over a 20-year period will ensure the optimum performance of the park, guaranteeing a stable contribution to the region’s renewable energy production.

Since the installation of its first turbine in 1991, Vestas has played a major role in the development of wind power in Spain. The Cascante wind farm reinforces this story, promising to make a lasting contribution to the country’s energy transition.
