Energiekontor AG, a German company specialising in the development and operation of wind and solar parks, has announced the commissioning of the Letschin solar park, located in the Märkisch-Oderland district of Brandenburg. This step marks a further expansion of the company’s self-owned portfolio, listed on the General Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

A large-scale plant integrated into the owned portfolio

Covering an area of approximately 55 hectares, equivalent to 65 football fields, the solar park has a nominal output of 60 megawatts peak. Financial close for the project was finalised in July 2023, enabling a timely start of operations in March 2025. Energiekontor anticipates an average annual yield of 68 gigawatt hours from the first full year of operation. This output would be sufficient to supply nearly 21,000 German households.

Long-term power purchase agreement already in place

The electricity generated will be sold under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed with a major German industrial company. The park is now part of the group’s electricity generation segment, which currently includes 36 wind parks and three solar parks, with a combined installed capacity of approximately 444 megawatts. The solar component now accounts for 19 percent of Energiekontor’s self-owned portfolio.

Organic growth outlook for 2025

Meanwhile, Energiekontor plans to launch operations at the Königsfeld solar park, located in the Black Forest (Baden-Württemberg), in the second quarter of 2025. With a nominal output of five megawatts peak, this facility will also be added to the company’s owned generation assets. Three other solar parks and three wind parks, totalling around 160 megawatts, are currently under construction. The company expects to soon surpass 600 megawatts of self-owned installed capacity.

Peter Szabo, Chief Executive Officer of Energiekontor AG, emphasised that this technological diversification and ongoing portfolio expansion support the financial stability of the company’s business model.
