Encavis Asset Management advises Versicherungskammer Group on the acquisition of an Irish onshore wind farm with a total capacity of 27.6 megawatts. The wind farm consists of a total of eight turbines. The first five wind turbines are ready to be built and are currently scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2023. The remaining three wind turbines are in an advanced stage of development and could be in service by 2026.
The wind farm will supply 24,400 homes and will save 25,900 tons of CO2 annually.
Encavis Asset Management is a leading provider of revolving asset management services to institutional investors. Thus, the company will be responsible for the structuring of the entire project of the German public insurer Versicherungskammer. Encavis will be responsible for the financing, operational management, energy management, accounting and controlling of the wind farm.
Furthermore, this is the first investment of Versicherungskammer in Western Ireland. Thus Georg Distler, head of infrastructure investment at Versicherungskammer, said:
Renewable energy is a key component of our investment strategy and sustainability is an important aspect of our capital investment. With this investment in Ireland, we are again diversifying our portfolio and playing an active role. We will continue to expand these commitments significantly, as we have done in recent years.
