Encavis announces the acquisition of an onshore wind farm with a capacity of 69.3MW in the Telšiai region in northwestern Lithuania.
An acquisition finalized
The Encavis wind farm already connected to the grid consists of 13 new generation wind turbines. They have with a production capacity of 5.3 MW each. The acquisition project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Encavis is one of the leading independent power producers. The company acquires and operates onshore wind farms and solar parks in twelve European countries. The total generation capacity of the Encavis Group currently amounts to over 3.4GW, which corresponds to a total saving of over 1.4 million tons of CO2 per year.
A Baltic cooperation
The acquisition of the Lithuanian wind project is expected to be completed by the end of this year. E energija Group and GE Energy Financial Services, as co-sponsors of the wind farm, are involved in the project. Encavis thus expands its portfolio to more than 2.1GW of generating capacity.
The electricity produced will be sold under a power purchase agreement to the state-owned company Eesti Energia AS of Estonia. In addition, thehe wind farm has a long-term service contract with General Electric Lithuania. E energija acts as a technical and commercial asset manager.
