Emeren Group Ltd, global developer and operator of solar projects, has announced the sale of a portfolio of solar projects in Spain to CVE España, a subsidiary of French independent power producer CVE. This portfolio includes eight projects developed by Emeren since 2021, with sizes ranging from 5MW to 6MW.

Solar portfolio of 42 MWp in Spain

The projects are located in the regions of Castilla-y-León, Comunidad Valenciana and Andalucia. Together, they will generate around 92,792,936 MWh per year, covering the energy needs of 28,360 households. One of the projects has already closed, and the others will follow in the third quarter, all classified as ready-to-build (RTB).

Partnership Strategy

Yumin Liu, CEO of Emeren Group, said, “We are delighted to partner with CVE Group on this portfolio of eight solar power plants. This marks an important milestone for our business in Spain and reinforces our commitment to expanding our solar portfolio.”
Pierre de Froidefond, Managing Partner of CVE, added: “This transaction accelerates our development in Spain, enabling us to triple our installed capacity by the end of 2025, reaching up to 65 MWp. This will enable us to better meet the needs of industrial consumers in Spain.”

Spanish market outlook

The Spanish solar photovoltaic market is supported by favorable policies and technological advances. These factors create a favorable environment for partnerships like the one between Emeren and CVE. Spain remains a key market for renewable energies in Europe, offering significant opportunities for players in the sector.
This transaction between Emeren and CVE España symbolizes a shared commitment to strategic expansion in the Spanish market. The synergies created by this collaboration promise to boost innovation and efficiency in the solar energy sector.
