EDF successfully launches a €1 billion hybrid bond issue denominated in euros.
Issuance of bonds in euros
EDF indicates that the hybrid bond issue comes with a 7.5% coupon. The repayment option may be exercised after six years. However, the Company reserves the right to make a repayment within the 90-day period preceding the annual interest reset date.
However, these new titles are open-ended. However, they can be refunded at any time with a withholding tax. The amount of the new issue maintains the total nominal value of the outstanding debt.
Redemption of dollar bonds
This value will not fall below 10% after repayment of the hybrid dollar bond issue. EDF thus reaffirms its commitment to financing through hybrid bonds. It is one of the permanent components of its capital structure.
Following the successful issuance of the New Notes, EDF intends to exercise its option to redeem the hybrid dollar bonds in full on January 29, 2023. These are admitted to trading on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. The new euro-denominated securities will be admitted to trading on the Euronext market in Paris.
