DEWA (Dubai Electricity Water Authority) extends the date for receiving expressions of interest for Mohammed bain Rashid Al Maktoum. The deadline for receipt is November 1st.
A sixth phase of 900MW
DEWA announces that these expressions of interest will enable the implementation of the sixth phase of the 900MW solar park. The sixth phase is based on the independent power producer (IPP) model. In addition, it will be operational in stages between 2025 and 2027.
DEWA’s Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Park, using the IPP model, is its largest solar park. The total investment in this park represents 50 billion dirhams. The production capacity is 1727MW and will reach 5000MW by 2030.
A total capacity of 1333MW
DEWA is currently implementing other solar projects. These projects use solar photovoltaic panels as well as concentrated solar power technologies. They have a total capacity of 1333MW.
As a result, clean energy capacity amounts to about 12.1% of Dubai’s total energy mix in the United Arab Emirates. It should reach 14% by the end of 2022. DEWA seeks to place Dubai at the forefront of clean energy production.
