CS Energy and CVE North America Partner to Deliver Community Solar Projects

CS Energy and CVE North America have begun construction of four 22 MW community solar projects in Western New York. More than 4,000 low- and middle-income residents will benefit from reduced electricity bills.

CS Energy and CVE North America have begun construction of a portfolio of four community solar projects with a total capacity of 22 MW in Western New York.

This strong partnership has resulted in over 50 MW of successful solar power projects

These projects, developed by CVE North America, will use Solar FlexRack solar trackers and are expected to be completed in Q4 2023. The four projects will provide discounted electricity bills to more than 4,000 low- and middle-income residents.

The partnership between CS Energy and CVE North America has already resulted in more than 50 MW of completed solar energy projects. Ben Dereume, CVE North America’s technical director, said they chose CS Energy for this project because of their strong alignment in terms of transparency, integrity and efficiency.

CS Energy has provided exceptional customer service on the last seven projects they have completed together in Massachusetts, from value engineering to overcoming supply chain constraints to assisting with permit and city applications.

These four community solar projects will help maintain New York State as the nation’s leading community solar market. On average, community solar projects in New York City offer a 5-10% reduction in energy bills for local residents. This 22 MW portfolio will benefit thousands of low- and middle-income residents.

In addition to providing savings to local residents, this portfolio of projects will also contribute to the state’s goal of generating 70 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and the governor’s goal of reaching 10 GW of solar by 2030. The projects will also avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 192,330 miles driven by gasoline cars per year.
