Cortus and Nordbex have signed a preliminary contract for the delivery of a 60MW WoodRoll® biomass power plant in Scandinavia, with construction scheduled for the second half of 2025. The contract includes options for four further power plants over ten years, with a total value of SEK 2 billion.

Delivery and preparation

The partnership stipulates that Cortus will supply the main components of the 60 MW WoodRoll® biomass power plant, as well as technology licenses, royalties and commissioning and maintenance services. The first plant will be located in the commune of Nybro. Aker Solutions will coordinate project preparations on behalf of Nordbex.

Financing for the first project, as well as the other four potential projects, is underway with several partners, including a major Nordic bank. This investment represents a major step forward for both companies in the Scandinavian energy sector.
