Corlacky Hill wind farm sold by RES

RES announces the sale of the Corlacky Hill wind farm to ERG UK Holding Ltd, a subsidiary of ERG, one of Europe's leading wind power producers.

Partagez:

The Corlacky Hill wind farm is the third asset sold by RES to ERG. The two companies had previously agreed on the sale and construction of the Craiggore wind farm. But also, during the construction of the Evishagaran wind farm.

For both projects, RES provided ERG with asset management services. These two projects, like the third, are in Northern Ireland. The Corlacky Hill project consists of 11 turbines with a capacity of 47 MW. These turbines are located near Swatragh, a small village in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.

The partnership between RES and ERG will continue and intensify as RES will support the construction and asset management of the Corlacky Hill Wind Farm.

Corlacky Hill is part of Northern Ireland’s energy strategy

Lucy Whitford, RES’ Managing Director for the UK and Northern Ireland, welcomes the agreement with ERG. We are delighted to have reached an agreement with ERG for the Corlacky Hill Wind Farm. The sale represents our growing relationship and combined investment in renewable energy, solidifying our joint efforts to provide affordable, carbon-free energy and support local communities. We look forward to beginning construction and helping ERG manage the wind farm once it is operational.”

10 million will be injected into the local economy through this project. Beyond the financial aspect, the construction of Corlacky Hill will create many jobs in the region. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024. Through its “Path to Net Zero” project, Northern Ireland aims to produce 80% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2030. Corlacky Hill will also meet the country’s energy policy.
