Cordelio Power continues to expand its battery energy storage system (BESS) program with several strategic advancements in the United States. The company has secured the acquisition of over 1.0 GWh of equipment and has signed new contracts for large-scale projects.
Strategic acquisitions to secure the supply chain
Cordelio Power has finalized supply agreements with Fluence Energy for over 1.0 GWh of BESS equipment. These acquisitions are part of the preparation for energy storage projects scheduled for 2026 and 2027. The goal is to anticipate the growing demand for storage infrastructure and ensure the availability of the necessary equipment for their deployment.
Two new projects under contract in the western United States
As part of a partnership with BrightNight, Cordelio Power has signed power purchase agreements for two new storage facilities in the western United States. The Greenwater project, with a capacity of 200 MW and 800 MWh, will be operated in collaboration with Puget Sound Energy, while the Pioneer project, with 300 MW and 1,200 MWh, is linked to Arizona Public Service. These infrastructures will optimize the integration of renewable energy by providing increased flexibility to the regional power grid.
Commissioning of the McHenry BESS in Illinois
Cordelio Power has officially launched the commercial operation of the McHenry BESS, a standalone storage facility with a capacity of 20 MW/40 MWh located in McHenry County, Illinois. This project aims to address grid flexibility needs and improve peak demand management.
With a 5.5 GW BESS development portfolio, Cordelio Power continues to invest in the expansion of its storage infrastructure. The company relies on strategic partnerships and a strengthened position in the North American market to support the transition toward a more resilient power grid.
