Clyde Extension, an onshore wind farm in Scotland, is under contract extension for maintenance by Siemens Gamesa.
Extension of the contract
Clyde Extension is located in South Lanarkshire, Scotland and has a capacity of 172.8MW. Clyde Wind Farm (Scotland) Ltd selects Siemens Gamesa to oversee all maintenance. Thus, Siemens Gamesa will provide maintenance and upkeep until 2037.
Clyde Extension consists of 54 Siemens Gamesa 3.2MW wind turbines. The wind farm has been operational since 2017. It includes the Clyde and Clyde Extension wind farms with a total of 206 turbines.
Training opportunities
The new contract guarantees the jobs of the existing maintenance team. In addition, it will provide opportunities for increased training placements for the next 15 years. Paulina Hobbs, CEO of Services for the Northern Europe and Middle East region at Siemens Gamesa, says:
