Catalyze, a fully integrated developer and Independent Power Producer (IPP) based in the United States, announced on April 16, 2025, that it had secured an $85 million tax equity investment from RBC Community Investments (RBC). The funding will be used to finance the construction of 75 MW of commercial and community solar projects across the country by the end of the year. This transaction marks an important milestone for Catalyze as it continues to expand its distributed energy generation portfolio.
Strategic partnership for renewable energy
This financing strengthens Catalyze’s position in the renewable energy sector, leveraging a long-standing relationship with RBC. The company, which currently has 300 MW of projects in operation or under construction, is receiving crucial financial support to complete new solar installations. “RBC is a valued financial partner, and we are pleased to expand our relationship with this latest investment,” said Jared Haines, CEO of Catalyze.
Deployment of distributed energy solutions
The projects supported by this investment will involve solar installations aimed at businesses and local communities, contributing to the growth of clean energy solutions in the United States. According to Jonathan Cheng, Managing Director at RBC, “This investment demonstrates our commitment to promoting clean energy solutions within local communities.” The projects aim to meet the growing demand for renewable energy in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector, while also offering sustainable solutions for residential and commercial properties.
RBC is positioning itself as a key player in the financing of the energy transition, supporting initiatives that reduce the carbon footprint while generating sustainable financial returns for investors.
