Castelmauro, located in Molise, Italy, inaugurates Enel Green Power’s 29MW wind farm.

Political support

The Castelmauro wind farm has seven wind turbines with a capacity of 4.2MW each for a total capacity of 29.4MW. Enel Green Power is commissioning this wind farm which will produce about 70GWh annually. Thus, it will avoid 30,000 tons of C02 each year and the use of 15 million cubic meters of gas.

Thus, the Castelmauro wind farm allows Italy to reduce its energy dependence on foreign sources. Salvatore Bernabei, CEO of Enel Green Power, states:

“With the entry into service of the Castelmauro wind farm, we are making a concrete contribution to the achievement of Italy’s decarbonization goals, also thanks to the collaboration with local institutions and the territory.”

In addition, the political figures of the region also welcome the commissioning of the wind farm in Castelmauro.

A local project

Flavio Boccardo, mayor of Castelmauro, says:

“We are especially proud to have this new power plant from renewable sources in our region, and therefore completely sustainable.”

The representatives of the region of Molise Quintino emphasize this important step. Indeed, the Castelmauro project is significant for a region that can offer a lot to the development of renewable energy.
