Themes Investments & Transactions, Commercial Partnerships

In an era when environmental concerns and the energy transition are at the heart of global debates, a promising collaboration is shaping up between European Energy and Petrobras, two giants in the energy sector. The aim of this joint initiative is to study the viability of a production facility for e-methanol, a green fuel, in Brazil.

European Energy: Pioneer in E-Methanol

European Energy, a company renowned for its expertise in renewable energy projects, is contributing its know-how acquired during the construction of Denmark’s first large-scale commercial e-methanol plant. In addition, their presence in Brazil, established since 2016, and their comprehensive local experience in developing, building and operating renewable energy assets, give European Energy a strategic position in this partnership.

Petrobras: Large-scale collaboration

On the other hand, Petrobras offers considerable expertise and a willingness to work with solid, reliable partners. However, this collaboration represents an opportunity for rapprochement and knowledge transfer between the two countries.

Towards a Sustainable Energy Future

The signing of the memorandum of understanding, which followed a visit by Petrobras senior executives to European Energy’s headquarters in Denmark, is a clear indicator of the commitment of both parties. The shared objective is to assess the commercial opportunities and define the development paths required to set up this facility in Brazil.
The project envisages a complete assessment of the value chain, as well as its suitability for the national regulatory framework. This approach is essential to ensure harmonious development that complies with environmental and industrial standards.

The agreement between European Energy and Petrobras marks an important milestone in the global energy landscape. Focusing on the development of an e-methanol facility in Brazil, this partnership illustrates the importance of international collaboration and innovation in the pursuit of a sustainable energy future.
