Bosnia and Herzegovina, a Southeastern European country with favorable solar conditions, is preparing to host a major energy project. Arctech, a global specialist in solar tracking solutions, has reached an agreement with NORINCO International to supply 1P SkyLine II tracking systems for a 125-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic project near Stolac.

National ambitions for renewable energy

With an annual average irradiation of 1,500 kWh/m², Bosnia and Herzegovina represents a growing market for renewable energy. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) estimates the country’s photovoltaic potential at 3 gigawatts (GW) by 2030. To support this transition, the government has set ambitious goals through the Energy Framework Strategy 2035, which promotes energy diversification and the integration of renewables.

A strategic partnership for Arctech in Europe

Active in Europe since 2013, Arctech has strengthened its presence on the continent by establishing offices, research centers, and logistical infrastructure in Spain, notably in Madrid and Valencia. This strategic setup enables the company to offer tailored solutions while efficiently meeting local project requirements.

NORINCO International, the project’s partner, highlighted Arctech’s technological and logistical expertise, which is backed by solid experience in large-scale global projects. This partnership is part of a broader dynamic aimed at supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy transition while fostering commercial ties between Chinese and European stakeholders.
