An appreciated professional journey
Baker Hughes announces the promotion of Nancy Buese to CFO. Since 2016, she served as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Newmont Corporation. For example, Lorenzo Simonelli, chairman and CEO of Baker Hughes, states:
“Nancy is a proven CFO and business leader with an impressive track record throughout her career in the energy and mining industries. She brings a diverse and valued background leading public company finance teams, and I am delighted to welcome her to Baker Hughes.”
Nancy Buese also has approximately 10 years of experience as executive vice president and CFO of MarkWest Energy Partners. In addition, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MPLX. As such, she had held this position since the acquisition of MarkWest by Marathon Petroleum’s subsidiary, MPLX.
Board experience
Nancy Buese began her career in public accounting as an accountant at Arthur Andersen. She then became a partner at Ernst & Young until 2003. The U.S. company also relies on its board experience.
In fact, she chaired the audit committee of UMB Financial Corporation from 2009 to 2017. In addition, she has served on the Williams Companies Board of Directors since 2018. In addition, with this appointment, Brian Worrell, Baker Hughes’ CFO, will move into a strategic advisory role.
