Axpo signs a contract with SNCF to supply renewable energy until 2023.
Axpo supplies 60 MW to SNCF
Swiss green energy trader and producer Axpo has just signed up to supply the French public transmission system with 60 MW of green energy.
The Swiss company, which already has a presence in Lyon, said it wanted to position itself as a mediator between producer and consumer in France.
The SNCF has declared its intention to increase the use of purchasing contracts via intermediaries to ensure its energy transition.
In this respect, Axpo could become a long-term partner for SNCF.
This first contract consolidates Axpo’s ambitions in France.
SNCF wants to cover 20% of its needs in the form of PPAs by 2025

Axpo is also providing a range of services related to electrical coverage, which will form part of the services supplied to SNCF.

Axpo already has a strong presence in France with its Volkswind and Urbasolar branches, which producewind and solarenergy respectively.
With this new partnership, Axpo now intends to establish a long-term presence in the green trading business in France.
