Aspen Power, a distributed generation platform dedicated to building a clean energy future, announces the completion of six solar projects in Pennsylvania.
These projects, totaling 25.5 megawatts (MW) of direct current, will produce up to 37 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in their first year of operation, equivalent to powering 5,100 homes per year.
These projects represent the first half of a portfolio acquired from Sunrise Energy.
Aspen Power co-developed these projects in partnership with Sunrise Energy, bringing the total portfolio of solar projects in Pennsylvania to over 145 MW.

Pennsylvania’s Energy Context

Pennsylvania aims to generate 18% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2025.
Net metered commercial solar projects contribute to this goal, enabling residents, businesses and organizations to participate in the energy transition.
These projects have generated around 480 jobs in the state through the development, construction and maintenance of solar systems.
They use American-made components, supporting the local economy while advancing decarbonization.

Strategic Partnerships and Technological Advances

“We’re proud to be advancing decarbonization with the Sunrise Energy team,” says Dan Gulick, Senior Vice President of Community Solar at Aspen Power.
Commissioning projects in Pennsylvania is critical to achieving a sustainable future and the gigawatt goal at scale in the years ahead.
Aspen Power continues to lead the distributed generation sector.
To date, Aspen Power has developed or acquired more than 600 renewable energy projects across 26 states, continuing its mission to build a clean energy future.

Implications for Industry and Communities

The completion of these solar projects by Aspen Power marks a significant step forward for the renewable energy industry.
By creating local jobs and using domestic components, these projects contribute not only to decarbonization but also to local economic development.
The collaboration with Sunrise Energy underlines the importance of partnerships in the renewable energy sector.
